Northern Ireland-Firm fined £60,000 after fatal power line accident

A tragic accident and a reminder of the dangers of power lines.  In this case the victim was electrocuted via an intermediate object.  It should also be noted that power will jump,  so there does not necessarily need to be contact.
One of Northern Ireland’s biggest construction firms has been fined £60,000 following the death of a sub-contractor.
Northstone (NI), a top 100 company, was fined for three breaches of health and safety at Dungannon Crown Court in a case brought by the Health |and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI).
